AGENCY STAFF
The Corporate Officers
Steve Etimos CIC, President and Managing Partner, with over 29 years of insurance experience, Steve received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from C.W. Post College in 1979. Steve is an licensed agent for Property/Casualty, Bonds, Life and Health. Steve started with Equitable Life in 1979 before moving to the property and casualty side of the business. Steve has had experience in independent agencies as well as insurance companies, Steve worked for the Hartford Insurance Co. before coming back to the agency side of the business.
Steve is currently one of the certified continuing Education instructors for Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New York. Steve instructs other insurance professionals in the various topics of insurance throughout the State of New York. In 1995 he started a local newspaper and successfully ran that as well for over 10 years with his family. Steve duties include the day to day management of Brewster Allen Wichert as well as teaching defensive driving classes for our clients here at Brewster Allen Wichert and off site for corporate clients at their locations. His experience allows him the opportunity understand an individual insurance needs as well as assist businesses in risk management and day to day operations.
Customer Support
Commercial Lines Department
Kathy Faby is a licensed Customer Service Representative and Office Manager with 17 years experience here at BAW and overall 27 years in the industry. She currently serves our large line accounts as well as mid-size accounts. Having come from a construction based family background Kathy brings an expertise in this line of business that many other customer service representatives from other agencies just can't match.
Linda Faby is a Customer Service Representative with 16 years experience here at BAW, she serves accounts that range from small package policies to a multistate company. Linda started with BAW as a receptionist and has worked her way up to a full charge CSR. Linda has specialize in serving medical accounts for our office. Her dedication to serving her clients comes through on each and every phone call. Patricia Goertz is a Customer Service Representative with 9 years experience here at BAW, Patricia is in charge of certificates and general customer service issues as well as endorsements for our commercial clients. Patricia takes her job seriously and you will find that she can ease your job in obtaining certificates from the State fund or any other insurance carrier. She has instituted a program that allows our clients to fax in certificate request forms and have them issued and sent within 24 hours in most cases. Why is this important? Many times payments are held up without properly execute certificates and Patricia takes pride in helping our clients get paid in a timely manner.
Christine Crowe is a licensed insurance broker and Customer Service Representative with over 20 years experience in the industry. Chris serves a client base from small package accounts to mid-size clients. She is verse with the workings at Motor vehicle department and assists many our our clients in handling problems that may arise due to issues involving insurance. Chris has a strong background in marketing accounts and handles many of our more difficult marketing issues. She always seems to find the right market for a client who has come to us after being told that they can't obtain coverage. How does she do it? Persistence.
Theresa Romano is a licensed insurance broker and Customer Service representative with over 22 years experience in the industry. Theresa will be serving the needs of clients from small commercial accounts to mid-size accounts. Her expertise in Workers Compensation rating and programs gives us the ability to offer valuable service to our clients. Theresa joined our agency in May of 2007, having come from a large commercial lines agency specializing in contractors. We are very happy to have her here at BAW, along with her knowledge and experience with contractors.
Judy Dobkowski is one of our commercial department's support people, Judy worked for a major insurance company before leaving the workplace to raise her children. Now back in the workforce we are delighted to have her experience in assisting our CSR's in the renewing of clients policies as well as reviewing them for accuracy. Her efforts allow our agency to review in depth a clients policy to make sure that it is accurate and contains the coverages that were requested from the carriers in our applications. Judy is the classic "Gal Friday" in that she is capable of doing many different things within our agency, such as downloading policies, fixing computer issues and assisting personal lines as well.
Personal Lines Department
Melissa Picone is our personal lines manager, having started in the business while in High School as a file clerk she has worked her way up through the years becoming a licensed insurance agent, as well as earning her ACSR Designation a very difficult designation which required her to attended seven different classes covering a wide range of insurance topics and passing a test on each topic.She is currently working towards another designation her AIA. Melissa came to Brewster Allen Wichert 6 years ago and reorganized our personal lines department into one of the best on Long Island. Having instituted a rotational service system we now have four dedicated individuals to serve our clients needs immediately. Melissa also developed for our personal lines department a full renewal review program where we review each and every account on an annual basis to help uncover exposures that need to be covered with insurance. Many times these reviews also find additional savings for our clients such as defensive driving credits, good student credit, distance to work, safety equipment on your vehicle etc... asking the right questions is just part of her job. Terry Kactioglu is a Customer Service Representative with over 25 years of company and agency experience, we are very happy to have Terry join our staff in 2003. She brings with her carrier experience that allows us to offer better service to each and everyone of our personal lines clients. Terry's experience with Kemper and Hartford Insurance companies helps us navigate through their systems and offer our clients better service.
Elizabeth Littlejohn has recently joined our agency and we are delighted to have her insurance experience here at BAW. Elizabeth is a licensed insurance broker who has worked in various agencies in her career. Having recently work at one of the largest brokers in the country Elizabeth brings with her experience that allows us to handle VIP accounts more efficiently. We know how valuable your time is and with Elizabeth's knowledge of the carriers and coverages we are better able to provide the type of service that you expect when you call Brewster Allen Wichert.
MaryEllen Bavaro, is an assistant personal lines customer service representative along with her duties in the personal lines department she now has taken over the service of our health insurance department as well. MaryEllen has continued to learn on the job moving from Receptionist last year to personal lines this year as well as health insurance service representative. Maryellen joined our staff back in 2006 and has bought her business experience in other industries to Brewster Allen Wichert.
Accounting and System Administrator
Johanna Pititto is our bookkeeper and system administrator, having graduated from C.W. Post with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting Johanna has been with BAW for 5 years. Before coming to BAW, Johanna worked for a major Long Island Insurance Agency with over 80 million in premium dollars, as well as for a small insurance carrier. Though many of our clients do not come in contact with Johanna without her expertise in accounting and computer systems we would not be able to serve your insurance needs as well as we do. We are proud to have someone with her experience on our team. Claims and Receptionist
Colette Rooney, is new to our agency having just started with us in 2007, Colette worked in the claims department of Geico Insurance specializing in Auto Liability. She is a quick learner and has recently passed her NY State Broker license exam. She is not only handling the receptionist duties for Brewster Allen Wichert, she also is the agency's claim service representative, her background in claims from Geico gives Brewster Allen Wichert a valuable tool in providing our clients with the best possible service when it matters most, after a claim.
Peggy Musarra, is new to our agency joining our staff in April of 2008, Peggy worked in the customer service department of Geico Insurance specializing in Auto and Umbrella coverages for individuals. Her duties will include receptionist, claims and backup to our personal lines department. Her experience in dealing with people at Gieco will surely be helpful as she works to make your contact with Brewster Allen Wichert a pleasant one.
Support personnel
Greg Etimos, Greg started working for the agency in 2004, he has worked in the agency for three years while supporting our staff with general clerical duties.Greg assists the agency in many areas from data input to marketing for new clients.
